From 1st January 2017 Microsoft will be increasing the prices it charges UK business customers for enterprise software and cloud.

Here’s what you need to know and how you can start to prepare:

The price increases in black and white

  • On-premise enterprise software prices will increase by 13%
  • Enterprise cloud prices will increase by 22%

Mitigating the impact on your organisation

Although the news from Microsoft may prompt you to secure your software and cloud services early, to benefit from existing pricing levels, Trustmarque’s licensing specialists advise customers to continue with due diligence in evaluating software and cloud requirements.

“There is a danger that organisations will feel compelled to buy unnecessary volumes – resulting in the purchase of licenses they don’t need or cloud volumes they will never utilise,” says Ben Simpson, Senior Software Consultant at Trustmarque.

He adds, “We will be working direct with our customers with immediate effect to identify and advise on current agreement expiry dates and renewals, proposed technology deployments, and cloud strategies with the aim of mitigating the impact of the price increases.”
