Acutest's Continuous Delivery Assurance Framework

You can now deploy test releases on demand thanks to Acutest’s Continuous Delivery Assurance Framework (CDAF). Offering complete flexibility, CDAF allows you to identify and report defects in a project’s design and development phase and fix them before going live.

Acutest Accelerator: Reduce live errors through high quality production releases

Automated assurance improves delivery by reducing defects during testing, helping save resources and costs in every release. It removes unwanted surprises prior to deployment.

CDAF can be used as a part of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), or for frequent testing of larger IT releases.

Your existing test tools are not a barrier to using CDAF. Instead, CDAF integrates with a wide range of test tools, augmenting them with ready-to-deploy templates and tools in the Acutest Accelerator.

What are the measurable benefits of CDAF?

How to develop a quality assurance framework?

What is a quality assurance framework and how do you develop one? CDAF provides a flexible approach to testing any application by establishing a single source of accurate real-time reporting. We do this by creating a single repository using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or Microfocus ALM.

In addition, CDAF follows a Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) approach. BDD offers clarity and a shared understanding for business owners, development teams and testers alike through the use of a syntax that enables simple translation into automated tests.

As for getting started, the first step in introducing CDAF is to gain a clear understanding of your priorities and goals. We identify these via a stakeholder workshop, which allows us to:

  • Define priorities and success criteria
  • Develop stories and associated scenarios describing the product/service behaviour
  • Carefully review and approve scenarios to identify and fix any potential defects before development takes place
  • Evaluate scenarios and automate time-consuming and difficult to test tasks, ensuring the fastest and most efficient testing

Adaptive technical framework provides the ability to keep everything under change control, manage the process, set up the environment, execute automated tests, and report results.

Ways of working

We utilise best practice to ensure quick and efficient working releases. Every technique is aligned to the objectives of the services being delivered and is based on Acutest’s principles and practices, and years of experience.

Using these ways of working, we focus on the essential elements of delivery to ensure these meet your requirements. It’s an approach that helps link requirements to tests, and therefore makes certain that when the tests pass, the service works.

Adaptive Technical Framework

CDAF interacts with the system under test using public domain test tools or you current in-house testing tools. The automated tests add value irrespective of your chosen development methodology, including waterfall deliveries, agile development and hybrid projects. It can also be used with your external delivery partners to control the process of delivery and ensure quality of releases.

As an IT testing and assurance framework, CDAF enables tests to be run throughout the development lifecycle and into live service. Another key benefit it offers is a single source of management information on project progress, enabling informed management decision making.

As a result, tests are no longer tied to specific test activities and can be run on demand, individually, in groups, or altogether as required by the project. In the final stages of delivery, you can also run tests more frequently to assure end-to-end integration and acceptance. Plus, tests can be run immediately before deployment to live, and on live services to ensure they are working correctly.
