Job summary

Joining a Cyber Security team that is going through rapid growth (average 25% YoY for the last three years), and a team that has gone from six to 30 in the same time span. You will be coming on board to drive the next wave of services revenue into our award-winning, Check and Crest Penetration testing team. There is the ability to expand your services sales focus into both Threat and Vulnerability management and Governance Risk and Compliance consulting.

Ideally, you will be an experienced security presales consultant looking for your next exciting challenge where you will help us to drive further growth into one of the most successful areas within Trustmarque. You love a challenge, will be both technically and business focussed and would love the opportunity to become a security evangelist driven from the first conversation into delivery.

Accountabilities and main responsibilities

What you’ll be doing:

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a presales consultant or a penetration tester looking to become more commercial/sales focussed to join our presales team at Trustmarque Cyber Security.
  • You will work with several verticalised (Healthcare, Local Government, Central Government, Education, Corporate) sales teams within Trustmarque to help uncover penetration testing opportunities.
  • This sales team opens the door to bring you in as a subject matter expert to lead from the first conversation to scoping and Statement of Work creation. You will be assisted by testers for more challenging projects but will be expected to scope and write SoWs to a reasonable technical ability unaided.
  • You will be responsible for a Professional Services margin number, working closely with both the Practice Director, Operations Director and Testing Principles and will be key to driving the success of the security practice.
  • We always expect our consultants to be very self-sufficient when engaged in smaller assignments representing the company by themselves, always ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality work and outstanding client care.
  • You will be involved in a wide variety of tasks from presales calls and meetings to the creation of proposals, presentations and statements of work as well as the design and delivery of security and compliance projects.
  • You will be responsible for the production of technical presales documents
  • You will be involved in the qualification and bid process for new opportunities providing relevant technical input into the process.

What we’re looking for:


  • Minimum of three years experience selling and scoping pen testing services
  • Remain up to date with specialist skills and market trends
  • Experience in performing security workshops, demos and presentations to a range of audience levels from C Level to technical.


  • Examples of delivering relevant security projects/programmes.
  • Be comfortable with being responsible for the scoping and of significant security projects.

Desired Certifications:

  • Hold or have the desire and ability to get Security Cleared

Other Requirements:

  • Predominately home-based but be prepared to travel up to 20% (currently closer to 1 day a month)
  • Have experience in stakeholder management within complex organisations and are comfortable presenting to CSO and the security leadership team.
  • Be a fast learner, ambitious, and comfortable working in high-pressure environments.
  • Exhibit a proven track record of continually looking for ways to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Consultative approach. You will be client-facing and will need to be able to convey complex themes and ideas in clear and concise language.
  • Assist and lead in the pre-sales/bid process for opportunities.
