TransVault migration to SharePoint Online for global insurer

The customer – a global insurance company – needed to simplify what had become a complex environment due to numerous mergers and acquisitions over the years. As a result of bringing together multiple systems, platforms and applications, this organisation had created a complex IT environment spread across multiple instances that was not efficient to run.

The customer wanted to transition its archiving systems, which were being provided by Enterprise Vault, to consolidate their archiving environment. The decision was taken to migrate to Microsoft Exchange Online from the Office365 suite. However, with over twenty terabytes of archives shared over three separate Active Directory forests, they needed support to both set up a modern migration environment and to run a successful pilot phase before moving ahead internally with the rest of the migrations.

Following a project initiation meeting between all the key stakeholders to agree key responsibilities, Trustmarque proceeded by adopting the latest version of TransVault, a software migration tool, which comes with x64 optimised software to improve the overall migration performance.

Working in conjunction with the customer’s in-house migration team, Trustmarque went on to validate all hardware, software and permissions requirements for the TransVault migration platform in each of the three forests, before setting up and configuring the platform ready to run the pilot phase. Trustmarque also provided ongoing assistance and troubleshooting for any TransVault migration challenges, aiding throughout all project delivery phases.
