On 21st June we hosted a day of presentations and discussions in Newcastle that focussed on how Citrix Cloud Services and Citrix on Microsoft Azure can help organisations. This was a well-attended day covering a number of topics, which included:
- Why Trustmarque for Citrix and Microsoft services?
- The Citrix workspace
- Citrix Cloud Services and how this changes delivery
- The benefits of extending and moving to Citrix on Azure
- The changing face of Azure

Next, John Moody from Citrix showcased the features that Citrix can bring to the workspace. This was especially prevalent to BYOD (bring your own device) and how organisations can secure their estates through VDI management of their users not only on corporate devices but on their own and separating the business and personal apps and protecting business data and IP.
Adrian Fish, Technical Architect from Trustmarque’s Services & Solutions Team, then took a deep dive into Citrix Cloud Services and how they can work in Azure. He covered what organisations have to do when they are considering VDI deployment in the cloud and the challenges and benefits that could be achieved through a successful delivery.
The day was closed out by Richard Willmott and Matt Holden-Milner, from Microsoft, who spoke about the astonishing amount of change that the Azure platform has gone through in a short space of time. This has opened up amazing opportunities for organisations but there was the recognition that pure cloud is not the answer for most organisations and they saw that CEOs and CIO were perusing a Cloud Appropriate strategy over a Cloud first strategy.
