Trustmarque buzzing over CRN Fight Night win
On Thursday 19 May, CRN’s legendary Fight Night returned to The Brewery London and Senior Finance Manager Billy Balson didn’t hold back in the ring.
Last week, the great and the good of the IT world donned their black ties and ballgowns for a spectacular night of boxing and fundraising at The CRN Fight Night 2022. In the blue corner this year was Trustmarque’s very own Billy ‘The Bee’ Balson who took to the floor against Stuart ‘The Hitman’ Robinson (Cloud Architect at Cloud Bridge).
As the dry ice wafted around the ring, and Van Halen’s iconic “Jump” blasted across the crowd, Billy ‘the Bee’ Balson came out fighting. One of the quickest fights of the night saw The Bee sting The Hitman in the ring, taking him down in the first round
We caught up with Billy to hear about the buzz of the night:
“What an amazing event, evening and team I had behind me! A HUGE thank you to my Trustmarque colleagues who provided the highest level of enthusiastic support that any fighter could ask for on the night. And thanks to all more widely in Trustmarque who supported my participation in the event. As for the fight itself, it was a great result for me, but my opponent wasn’t done justice by the quick nature of the fight. I was relieved to have caught him, before he caught me!”

Cheered on by his Trustmarque colleagues, Billy’s energy in the ring was the talking point of the night. One of our competition winners, Sarah Capp, was there to soak up the atmosphere and capture the night on camera:

On Thursday 19 May 20 fearless channel contenders plunged into the brutal world of boxing to raise money for their chosen charities at CRN Fight Night.
A complete sell out every year, the 10 fights were watched by over 500 industry professionals all cheering on for their channel heroes to help raise money for their nominated charities, ultimately improving the lives of thousands of people around the world.
Still time to pack a punch for Citizens Online
Senior Finance Manager Billy has already raised over £600 for his chosen charity, Citizens Online. They work to close the gap and improve digital inclusion, ensuring the benefits of the internet and digital technologies are available to everyone.
However, there’s still time to donate through Billy’s JustGiving page. The money raised will enable Citizens Online to support those who are digitally excluded and most likely to face social and economic disadvantage to reduce inequalities across communities. Those most at risk include the elderly, low-income earners, disabled people or those with poor literacy skills.
