We will be championing ‘equality and social justice’ at the annual Manchester Culture Awards.

We are pleased to announce that we will be sponsoring an award at the Manchester Culture Awards 2022, taking place on 24 November. Trustmarque will sponsor the ‘Promotion of Equality and Social Justice’ Award, honouring someone or a group of individuals who have made a change and created opportunities for equality and diversity to thrive.

The partnership is a great example of how Trustmarque aims to drive social mobility and empower people of all ages through access to skills and development opportunities. We are working in partnership with education providers, charities, and councils, we proactively seek to provide people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to reach their full potential.

“I am proud to be sponsoring this award as I grew up in Central Manchester and understand the many challenges citizens face. Through the strides Manchester has taken; I believe it is now a city leading the way in terms of equality and social justice. But there is still a lot of work to do to promote fairness and equality across all aspects of society to make sure all citizens have equal economic, educational, and career opportunities. At Trustmarque, we are committed to supporting communities throughout Manchester and look forward to seeing how we can really help create opportunities for citizens within the city.”

About the awards

The Manchester Culture Awards – which were launched in 2018 and are organised by Manchester City Council – provide an annual opportunity to recognise and showcase the talent, creativity, and culture that makes Manchester so unique.

More than 62 finalists and winners were celebrated at last year’s awards from across a wide range of art forms and heritage projects.  Organisations large and small were nominated, as well as individuals – reflecting Manchester’s distinctive and dynamic creative scene.

“The awards are a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate the important contribution the arts and culture make to our city – not just to our economy, but also to our health and wellbeing.”

Councillor Luthfur Rahman OBE, Deputy Leader of Manchester City Council.

The winners will be announced on 24 November 2022 at an awards ceremony in Manchester. Good luck to all the finalists and everyone working behind the scenes to make the event a success.
