Tell me about your career at Trustmarque

I joined what was formerly S3 (Solid State Solutions), a datacentre specialist re-seller, eight years ago. We were acquired by Capita in 2016 and have now officially merged with Trustmarque to create one sales team. It’s been a steep learning curve, but the merger made a lot of sense and I’m enjoying it.

Has there been much support to move into Trustmarque?

We have had a lot of training and sales enablement – especially on Microsoft and our cloud solutions offering. It wasn’t an overnight transition, but we have a wealth of talent to tap into for support. Now we can look across the piece, providing end-to-end customer-centric solutions.

What does your role involve?

As Account Director, I am responsible for nurturing existing accounts predominantly. I support in helping customers adopt new ways of working, for example, moving from on-premise to embrace cloud.

What do you like about your role?

The compensation is good and is definitely competitive. I have never been micromanaged and have been left to get on with what I am paid to do. I ask for help when I need it. Everyone is treated like mature and capable adults. It is nice to have that respect and flexibility – it helps with work-life balance.

We have good technologies at our disposal and can be creative with what we are doing. We’re constantly finding new products to meet customer requirements and work together with the pre-sales and onboarding teams to fulfil those requirements.

Tell me more about the culture at Trustmarque

We have a strategic direction and an end game but are left to execute. I don’t want to be in an office every day so the flexibility of home working is good for me.

The brand is strong and we have ramped up marketing significantly. We have skilled individuals especially in pre-sales team who bring real technical expertise. It is a team effort. We frequently get together to collaborate and support each other.

What three words would you use to describe Trustmarque?

Collaborative. Value-added. Relationship-focused.
