The Berne Union planned to relocate and as part of this, were seeking support to both overhaul and migrate their existing infrastructure to fully adopt a simplified cloud environment using Office 365. Explains Ian Gordon-Brown, IT Manager at The Berne Union: “The office relocation presented us with the opportunity to configure a new cloud based environment, where we can implement appropriate Office 365 technologies, whilst increasing technology security and reducing operating cost.”

Running on a third party hosted environment, The Berne Union were looking to simplify existing mail and voice systems, as well as migrating all home drive and SharePoint data.

The Solution

A discovery workshop was undertaken to validate Trustmarque’s understanding and gather in-depth information of The Berne Union’s business goals, requirements and environment. Following this comprehensive evaluation, Trustmarque delivered a solution approach that migrated users away from the complex third party hosted environment directly into Office 365, supporting global user requirements and delivering the overall simplicity of the O365 stack.

Active Directory was designed and configured into Microsoft Azure Active Directory for all laptops and desktops, providing The Berne Union with greater resilience and less complexity onsite. Trustmarque configured Office 365, focusing on Intune, Exchange Online and the Skype for Business telephony migration and went on to migrate all laptops, desktops and mailboxes to the new Active Directory, along with all data from legacy home drives to OneDrive for Business.

This Office 365 design, build and migration project also included configuration of the Wi-Fi controller to provide secure access to Berne Union laptops, with guest portal access. Intune MDM was also configured to provide management of the Outlook client to ten Apple iPhone phone handsets.
